Our Caregiver Roots Run Deep

Back in 1982, Nancy Webre and her husband John, laid the foundation for Oregon’s first in-home care agency. As CEO, Nancy’s education and training in gerontology and over 35 years experience in senior care has helped Evergreen’s commitment to caregiving grow stronger and deeper through the years.

Today our “family tree” contains over 50+ dedicated employees in the tri-county area, many of whom have been with us for ten years or more. We take great pride in our caregiver loyalty and longevity. We understand that good care begins with good staff. Evergreen caregivers make every effort to ensure you or your loved one get the best in-home care possible. Our caregivers make a difference. Evergreen’s caregivers are our employees, not contractors. We select our staff after a rigorous interview process.

It is of utmost importance our caregivers meet the highest standards of professionalism, integrity and experience. For your peace of mind, we commit to 24-hour access to our management, bonded and insured staff, and caregivers who are genuinely committed to providing excellent service.

We expect reliability and respect from those who represent Evergreen.

All of our staff have been extensively interviewed and must complete a thorough screening process, which includes:

  • Extensive interview process with Evergreen’s administrative staff
  • Local, National and Federal Criminal background checks
  • Motor vehicles records check
  • Substance abuse screening
  • Professional and personal reference reviews, experience verification
  • Proof of current Oregon driver’s license and vehicle insurance
  • Competency skills evaluation and training

Prior to being placed in the home with a client all employees are required to complete a thorough orientation and training program. Caregivers are provided on-going training opportunities one-on-one with our registered nurse, scheduled training seminars in the office and through on-line caregiver training modules. Client specific training is also provided, such as nursing delegations or specific teaching about a chronic illness or disease process. During this process, we take the time to get to know our caregivers. We want to know about their skills, goals, and strengths related to caregiving. We take special care in finding the perfect match between each client and caregiver. We encourage clients to meet and interview your caregivers before services begin to ensure peace of mind and complete satisfaction. We honor and appreciate the opportunity of being invited into our client’s homes to provide in-home care services.

What our caregivers have to say about us

“I always heard that Evergreen had the best reputation of in-home care agencies in Central Oregon, and now I know why. It starts with the owner and an office staff that sincerely care about their clients and matching them with the right caregivers. The office staff are so supportive and have an “open door” policy all the time. They are a team that works well together and support each other. I love my job, my clients and the people I work with at Evergreen.”

“Evergreen In-Home Care Services has been my first position in the workforce in almost a decade. The office staff have always been accommodating to my family life while balancing our clients’ needs as well. I have always felt appreciated and valued as an employee. My work is incredibly fun (yes, work and fun in the same sentence)! I am able to utilize my skills and talents for the betterment of others. Evergreen’s continuing education through staff meetings and internet courses keeps me up to date and prepared for my job. Besides Evergreen’s sincere interest in their employees, the business always participates in community events and fundraising for great causes like Alzheimer’s and ALS. Of all the in-home care service agencies, Evergreen is by far the best to work for!”

“I’ve worked for Evergreen for 15 years as a caregiver. What I love most about Evergreen is that they always go that extra mile to accommodate my work schedule with my personal schedule. Because of that, I have had many of the same clients for years. I love my clients, knowing I am helping them and making a difference in their lives.”

“I’ve worked for Evergreen for 4 years and have always felt supported which has enabled me to provide the highest quality and safe services to my clients. I’ve always been happy with my job at Evergreen and have never desired to look elsewhere to work at other in-home care agencies in the community.”
